This summer I will be heading to Barrow, the northernmost point in the United States. Currently, the temperature in Barrow is -27 F and they have 13 hours of daylight. By the time I arrive, there will be 24 hours of sunlight every day. I am fascinated that I will be near the "top" of the world (showing my northern hemisphere prejudices, I suppose) and cannot wait to find out what I will be doing in my research project.

Here is a map that shows where Barrow is on the Arctic Ocean.
