Did the broken eggs in Atqasuk smell bad?

Well, another interesting science question . . .
As I recall, I did not notice any smell to the eggs, however, we neither took the eggs from the refrigerator, nor made any particular effort to smell them once we saw that they were broken. Thus, I am uncertain if they did not actually smell because they had not gotten rotten, yet, for being in the refigerator still perhaps, or if they had a righteous smell that I did not detect due to their distance from my nose. If I get back to the store, I will definitely try to answer your question more thoroughly. But I will be sure to use the proper wafting technique for smelling unknowns. Do you remember it?
