Dear Barbara,
Your question is actually a pretty difficult one to answer because it has been a lot of different temperatures. There are some days where the wind has been blowing and it has felt like what it feels like in Vermont in February, and then there have been some days where it is quite nice and it feels like a day in late March or early April. So it is good that I have brought all different layers of clothes to wear because on some days I am all bundled up and on others I only wear a jacket.

The river has now broken and the ice has almost all cleared out. However, there are still patches of snow here and there in the fields. It makes it hard for me to think that it is really June and that it is almost summer vacation because it doesn't feel like that time of year at all.

Here is a question for you Barbara. As you may have been able to tell from some of my journals and the pictures that I sent, the sun is shining here for almost 24 hours a day. I was wondering why, if the sun is always shining, why isn't it warmer out here than it is in Vermont where the sun isn't shining all the time? See what you can find out and let me know!!

I'm glad you got to visit the website. It has been fun to be able to keep in touch with so many students and answer questions!

See you soon,
Amy
