Hello I am Marllley Prince from Chippewa Falls. How is your trip so far. From your journal it seems like it has been fun so far. i liked your presentation. it was some what interesting. But i have some questions for you.
(1). What is the meaning of Tussock?
(2). What kinds of flowers are there?
(3). What is a Precision Spectral Radio Meter?
I hope that you can answer my questions. I hope that you have a good time from right now and to the end of your trip.

Wow, great questions. If you go to one of the journal entries you can see pictures and a discription of the tussocks. When you walk on them it is like walking on wiggly lumps, and you have to watch your step so you don't twist your ankle. Each lump has moss, sometimes lichens, grass, and/or wild flowers. Sometimes even small shrubs. They are being studied by some of the other science groups up here. I only know the name of one of the flowers so far, it is called colt's foot, and it is pink. There may be a picture in my journal of it. There are 2 kinds of white flowers, and clumps of yellow ones, but I don't know their names. They are all very short and sometimes have fuzzy stems and leaves. The precision Spectral Radiometer is an instrument you can see in the picture of today's journal in the micro meterorological station. It measures energy coming from the sky and energy coming from the ground, from the plants and soil, to see what the net energy is. Mrs. Bejin |
