Good questions. I have not learned the names of all the flowers yet, just one. There is a scientist coming soon who will be studying plant diversity and I will ask her. Why don't you email me again early next week if you can. The pink one (I think it's in one of my journals) is colt's foot. Speaking of trying foods, on a hike I tried a taste of that plants root; it's rather like a dirty potato taste. (Don't try eating any old plant at home-I was with a professional. Eating parts of plants you don't know canbe dangerous. The Alaska type foods I've had are Alaska smoked Salmon and Halibut. The food here is delicious, but not too different from what you eat. I've seen moose, caribou, Dahl sheep, arctic terns and other birds. Also there are cool little ground squirrels around here that look like prairie doggs. Mrs. Bejin
