I have seen several birds, like arctic terns, lapland longspurs, huge ravens, and others I have yet to identify. Also on the way up we saw caribou, white Dahl sheep and moose. Yesterday I saw caribou and fox scat on a hike, and an owl pelet. There are very cute ground squirrels here that look like prairie dogs-I call them tundr dogs. I'll try to get a picture for a journal entry. The plants are quite short; there are wild flowers, sedges, grasses, moss, lichens, and willow and birch shrubs that I've seen so far. We found some cool streams on a hike that have rocks thatlook spotted from different colored lichens. Mrs. Bejin
