Dear Amy,
Have you seen any reindeer herds? Can reindeer swim? Do the kids there know where Santa lives? Do they have Christmas too? What about the Easter Bunny? Are there any bunnies in Zhigansk? Can bunnies swim? Can bunnies fly?

Dear Chloe,
These are some great questions, especially for a four year old! I haven't seen any reindeer herds, but there are some that are close to the village I am staying in. There are some people who live here, who's job is to be a reindeer herder. However, the reindeer all go north where it stays cold in the summer time, so they have moved away from this village. Reindeer can swim.

I haven't asked the kids here if they know where Santa lives, but it is a question I will try to find out while I am here. And, while I am at it, I will try to find out what they know about the Easter Bunny. I know that they have some different holidays that they celebrate too. One of their favorite holidays is New Years--this is a day that they exchange a lot of presents and for many children, it is their favorite holiday.

There are bunnies that live in Zhigansk, but I haven't seen any. Today I am going to go for a hike into the forest, and maybe I will see some there! I will let you know. I don't think that bunnies can swim but maybe they can if they really have too and I know that they can't fly!!
