Hi Crystal and the Sixth Grade,
Our accommodations are very nice. I will take a picture of the lodge we are staying in and post it so you can see. The lodge was built very recently and it is used by the people that come here to mine diamonds. I don't really know where the diamond mines are but I will ask around and see what I can find out. It is just our research team staying here at the moment, but we just got here last night so that may change.

I am staying in one room with the other female researcher and all of the equipment and then four of the men on our trip are in a room across the hall. We have hot water in the bathroom which is great since we didn't have any in our hotel in Yakutsk. The other great thing about our accommodations is that we have a person here at this lodge to cook for us. This is great since there aren't any places to eat in Zhigansk. I don't know what we would do if this place wasn't built in the last few years.

Last year, when Max was here, they stayed on the boat that the worked on to get the water samples. We may be able to stay on that for a few nights, but first the ice has to break.
Thanks Crystal, say hi to everyone for me, and keep the questions coming--the whole team loves to hear what you guys are thinking about! Also, Crys, I've been posting questions in my teacher's journals almost everyday--check them out and see what you can find out!

Amy

P.S. don't forget to use the spell checker or have someone look over your entries--don't forget that these are being published on the web and anyone in the whole wide world can read them!!
