Kate- Whoa- have a little more sugar, would ya? Yes, I have a parka. But really, it is overrated. Its big, heavy, and a pain to have to put on all the time. The best days up here are when it is warm enough that we don't have to wear the parka!!
Yes, we do sleep in tents. I am in the moderately sissy tent, though. It has heaters and cots. Rumor has it that on Monday I am being forced to sleep in one of the arctic ovens, though. They say that if it gets super cold in there, your breath freezes above your head and when you sit up it falls on your face!!
This is my first time out of the country (since Canada doesn't count). Unless the Bahamas counts. I've been there. Not much like here, though:)
We get around 99% of the time on foot. I walk about 3 miles a day. We can only use the snowmobiles if we are going really, really far away. That has only happened twice since I've been here.
Keep reading the journals! See you soon
