The "Environmental Protection Agency Global Warming Kids Site" has been mentioned in some Teacher's Journals and posts here on the Virtual Base Camp. Since this site is such a wonderful resource (and not only just for kids) thought this URL should be highlighted here in the Webliography as well.
http://www.epa.gov/globalwarming/kids/index.html
This site contains excellent animations and explanations including:
* Global Warming (what it is)
* Climate & Weather
* Greenhouse Effect
* What is the Climate System?
* So What's the BIG DEAL?
* We CAN Make a Difference!
At this site you will find: Games, Links, Climate Animations on Earth Processes and Climate Change with a focus on the Water Cycle and the Carbon Cycle, a Glossary, Activities, Quizzes, Online Greenhouse Gas Calculators, Database Query Tools, and Case Studies.
The EPA Global Warming Kids Site can help to connect the Climate Change puzzle pieces thus facilitating "big picture" understanding. |
