If you go to one of the journal entries you can see pictures and a discription of the tussocks. When you walk on them it is like walking on wiggly lumps, and you have to watch your step so you don't twist your ankle. Each lump has moss, sometimes lichens, grass, and/or wild flowers. Sometimes even small shrubs. They are being studied by some of the other science groups up here. I think the moisture flux model is a model (like a predicted plan) of how the moisture changes. I'll have to ask Hahn or Halim about that for sure. I applied to go to the Arctic (Toolik Lake) because I love to learn new things and learn more about how scientists work so my science students can get that information. Besides, I love an adventure, and this is one! Mrs. Bejin
