animal life in the arctic question

I am a 9th grade student from Polson, Montana and I would like
to ask a couple of questions.

I was wanting to know if you have you seen any effects the climate
change has had upon the animal life in the Arctic.

My last question is if you would recommend going on one of these
research cruises to a student?

The polar bear and walrus are retreating north earlier following the
earlier retreat of the ice pack. Also, there is documentation of some
plant species surviving farther north.

There are several college students working as technicians on this
cruise. I think a research cruise would be an excellent opportunity for
students. It provides a chance see if they like field work and they get
to work with the experts in their field.
