What is the blue color on the melt ponds that form on the
surface of the ice?

How many different micro-organisms have you seen so far?

1. The blue is the light wave fraction that is reflected back by the melted
water.

2. I have seen small and large species of copepods, eggs, and larval stages
of shrimp.
