Today was a flurry of activity in the big house. A plane came today, and that is always a busy time. A whole new group of researchers came, along with a group of carpenters to do some remodeling of the big house, and new science techs as well.

Since this is the beginning of the summer season, the Herc-130 brought along fuel to fill the fuel bladders with. They will do this each time they come up during the summer. The fuel is stored so that in winter, when planes do not come up for 3 months, the people that are here have enough fuel to get through the winter.

Also, everyone was excited about the plane coming because, as always, it brought a new stock of freshies (fruits and vegetables) and mail from home. Lucky me, Robin in Kanger sent me 4 sodas!!! Just enough to make it through the week. You have no idea how happy I was to see that box! I have gone several days without!!

I spent the day "mousing." The mouse is the person who stays in the big house and cleans. Since we had an extra 10 people here, there were plenty of dishes to do!! I did lots and lots of dishes, vacuumed, and cleaned the bathroom.

And this isn't even all of them!!!
Part of the mouses duties is to help Sarah (the camp cook) with anything she needs assistance with.

This is Sarah

So I helped get out the food and condiments for dinner. It is also the mouses job to clean the kitchen after dinner. With so many people here, this was a HUGE job. Luckily, though, Kelly was nice enough to help after dinner, or I might still be there!! One big bonus of being the mouse is that I got to do my laundry. After a couple weeks of being here, clean laundry is like a luxury!!!

After dinner, all the girls in camp got together for a "girls night." We sat around and talked a lot, and some of the more talented members worked on a knitting project (I, of course, do not have the ability to participate in that activity). It was nice to spend some time with just girls- we don't get to do that very often here!!
