Dear Max, if the weather in Europe gets really cold, will the fish in the Arctic Ocean get killed?

Hi Zach and David,

That's a really good question. As the temperature of the ocean changes, fish and other animals will either have to be able to handle the new conditions or move to different locations in order to survive. Right now, most of the world's oceans are warming. But as you have discussed in your class, there is a possibility that global warming could change the circulation of the Atlantic Ocean, leading to cooling in the North Atlantic region. If that happens, fish in the North Atlantic might experience colder conditions while fish in the rest of the ocean might experience warmer water.
