How deep is the snow? And have you seen any other animals besides the Musk Ox?

The snow pack here (called firn when it's on top of a glacier) goes down about 50 - 100 meters I'm told. Underneath that is roughly 2 miles of ice. A few years back they actually drilled a core sample all the way to the bottom! The hole is still there- I know because there is a pipe installed over it.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any animals. Not even a musk ox, unless you count the one that was on my lunch yesterday:). There are no animals at Summit. They say when I get back to Kanger in two weeks it will be much warmer and I will be able to see musk oxen then.
