Amy's expedition has begun on the Lena River in Siberia. Read her latest journal entries here. You can also ask her or scientist Max Holmes a question about
their expedition here.
Amy Clapp sampled river water with a group of U.S. and Russian collaborators on the remote Lena River in Siberia. Amy worked with Max Holmes
from the Marine Biological Laboratory along with a team of researchers and students to provide clues into how global change may impact the arctic hydrologic and
biogeochemical cycles, and how changes in the Arctic feedback to global climate.
Amy teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science and 5th grade writing at Salisbury Community School in Salisbury, Vermont and is a graduate student in the Vermont
Science Initiative, a program for K-6 teachers to become teacher leaders in science. Amy is looking forward to experiencing the joys, frustrations and
uncertainties that science is all about. Amy plans to share her TREC experiences and the knowledge of the Arctic with her students and colleagues in innovative
and engaging ways.
