Greetings from snowy Colorado! I arrived in Denver last night, just in time to make a new friend! I took the shuttle in from Denver with Stacy Golden. In July, she will join researchers in Prince Patrick, Canada and engage in research on frost boils! Check out her website throughout the summer!
Well, with everything from shorts to parka in hand, thanks to the unpredictable weather, we start our field preparation programs this weekend with a Field Safety Training Course facilitated by Brian Horner of Learn to Return Training Systems. Today will cover such topics as travel emergencies, appropriate clothing for cold weather travel, packing for the field, emergency procedures, first aid, human exposure to cold injuries, hypothermia, and frost bite, and survival shelters. Sounds like a full day! I’ll let y’all know how it goes!
So long for now! |
