Hi Mrs. Nikula. Sorry I am doing this late. I have a question. What types of flowers and plants and animals do you see there? I hope you are having fun! Kaimi

Wow, that is a big question, Kaimi!
I saw a LOT of different kinds of plants, many of which I don't know the names. The tundra was growing and blooming like crazy while I was in Barrow and we were out walking (well, trudging mostly) through it nearly every day. I uploaded some pictures of plants to the photo album previously.

I did see quite a few different animals. The first night I was there I saw a walrus (on the beach being butchered by some Inupiaq men) and the next day an Arctic fox ran by us about 25 feet away. I also saw caribou herds, a caribou mom and her calf, lots of grey whales, one scared lemming and hoards of different kinds of birds (geese, gulls, shorebirds, plovers, eiders). But I didn't see any snowy owls or polar bears. There are also pictures of some of these in my photo album as well,

When we get back to school, I will have a slide show of most of my pictures and you and the other students will be able to see them then as well.
