Flight Delay

Do you have any guesses as to why your flight out of atqasuk was delayed for almost three hours?

Sorry, for the delay in posting a response, Rolf, your question got overlooked.

Actually, I did ask the pilot if they had been delayed because of weather (remember the weather wasn't good enough for the float planes to fly). He said, yes, basically. Another one of Cape Smythe's pilots didn't have 100 hours of flight time yet, so he couldn't fly with passengers in the weather conditions that day. SO, my pilot had to fly somewhere else to get the passengers (he said where, I just didn't recognize the place and can't remember it now) and that put the 4 pm flight behind schedule significantly. Since Hageland (our usual flight service) was not flying AT ALL due to mechanical problems, I did eventually get out of Atqasuk and Bill had a lot of fascinating stories to tell about his work as a wildlife biologist/pilot, the extra wait time wasn't THAT bad. Smile

Hopefully, my flight home next week won't have as many problems.
