Is it really cold there. And what types off animals do you see?

It is not very cold. If the wind blows from the north it can get chilly. If it isn't blowing the intense rays of the sun can be hot. The tundra is so big you don't see a lot of animals unless you drive. Around the field station I see ground squirrels and birds. Yesterday when we went for a drive we saw quite a few caribou.
