Hi, again Mrs. Bejin! This is the last letter I can write to you during the school year. I have a few questions for you. What is the scrub site used to measure? What is the tundra site used to measure? What is the other site (that I can't think of the name right now) used for? Well, anyways I will try to write to you at home and read your journal. Bye! I will be glad you are still reading journal entries and emailing me when school is out. The 3 sites are:tundra, wet sedge, and shrub. at the tundra and shrub we can use the big truck with the radiometers to learn how much microwaves come from the sky and the soil and plants, and from that information can figure out how the energy and water are cycling through this environment. We also check the depth of the active layer at these sites. The wet sedge site is farther done the bumpy dirt road, and the big truck can not get through without damaging the instruments, so we monitor the soil temperature at that site. Mrs. Bejin |
