Hi Mrs. Nikula! I have a question about the tundras in Barrow: About how much of Barrow does/do the tundra(s) take up?

The tundra is all around Barrow. Barrow is next to the the Arctic Ocean which is to the north of us. Everywhere south of Barrow is tundra for about 200 miles. It makes Barrow very isolated; there are no roads that are built through the tundra, so you can only fly in and out of Barrow.
Pretty much all of the northern part of Alaska is tundra. If you go to this website:
http://www.atlapedia.com/online/maps/physical/Alaska_Hawaii.htm
you can see a map of the physical features of Alaska. Everything north of the mountains on the northern coast is tundra.
Thanks for the questions!
Mrs. N-)
