TREC Classrooms: Arctic Alive!

Upcoming Arctic Alive! events: Upcoming events will be announced on this page and through the ARCUS Education Listserve.

TREC has become PolarTREC and live classroom events will be called Live From IPY. Visit the PolarTREC website for more information.

About Arctic Alive! TREC Expeditions:
Follow the TREC Teachers and Researchers throughout their expeditions!
Arctic Alive virtual expeditions allow your students to participate in online teacher/researcher journals, message boards, photo albums, and classroom activities. Some of the expeditions will also have real-time calls from the field that connect the teachers and researchers to the classroom.

Who Can Participate:
Any age group can participate in Arctic Alive and follow the expeditions. There is no cost associated with participating in these expeditions – participation and all materials are FREE!

How to Participate:
Arctic Alive events will utilize a platform called HorizonWimba, which
enables live audio conferencing, online presentations, online internet
touring, application sharing, polling, and private and public text chat in
addition to standard teleconferencing.

Contact Janet Warburton, ARCUS Project Manager, for more information.
