American Competitiveness
Initiative
In February 2006, President Bush announced the
American Competitiveness Initiative to ensure the
U.S. "remain a leader in science and technology." The
corresponding report, American Competitiveness
Initiative: Leading the World in Innovation,
published by the Office of Science and Technology
Policy, recommends federal investments and
policies for sustained scientific leadership.
