2007 Town Hall Meeting | Overview
Monday, 10 December 2007
Moscone Center West, Room
3004
747 Howard Street
San Francisco, CA 94103
This Town Hall meeting sought community input for
developing an Arctic Synthesis Collaboratory, a
concept arising from a 2007 workshop and discussions
in the arctic research community. The Collaboratory
concept is an "umbrella" framework that fosters
interactions among arctic scientists and other
stakeholders, integrates data analysis and modeling,
develops outreach, education, and policy-relevant
resources, and provides training and professional
development. Charlie Vörösmarty presented on the
Collaboratory concept and then opened the floor for
discussion on community needs and concerns, as well
as organizational and implementation issues.
