Description: The bone half extracted from the matrix of the Liscomb quarry appears to be a dinosaur toe bone. After talking with Tony and Thomas, it appears this bone is quite small. If the dinosaur lived long enough to reach adulthood, the bone could reach the size of an average man's foot.

Description: Dave found some Cenozoic sea shell fossils that told a neat story. Some of the shells had a neat hole drilled through them. Dave explained the hole was from the Moon snail, which attached itself to its prey and bore a hole through shells to reach the flesh.

Mike with Cretaceous Wood

Description: Mike holds a 65-70 million year old piece of coalified wood. This wood was originally transported during a flood during the time of the dinosaurs and quickly buried. Since tree size is somewhat dependent upon temperature, this large piece of wood suggests this part of Alaska was much warmer in the past.
