Saturday night is morale night on the Healy. The cooking staff works long, hard hours throughout the week, so there is something a little different for Saturday night. In an earlier journal entry (June 5th), I described the science dinner. Tonight it was the chiefs' turn to take over the kitchen. For an appetizer, there was warm Brie cheese and crackers. The main entrées were Philly cheese steaks, chicken wings, jalapeño poppers, and beef or chicken kebabs with mushrooms and tomatoes. To finish the meal, we were offered Ben and Jerry's ice cream. It was a delicious meal.

The Chiefs cooked and served dinner tonight.

At 6:30 PM the BINGO game started. There were three tables full of eager participants. There has been some good-hearted kidding with the aviation team. They seem to be on a BINGO winning streak and tonight was no exception. However, DC1 Witkowski won the main prize for this evening, a backpack.

ENS Sarah Young is the morale officer on the Healy.

In the third game there was a stand off between the pictured scientist, Bob Wolfe, and aviation officer LT Klatt.

The aviation luck held. LT Klatt walks to the front to claim his prize.
