These questions have been coming in as we do assignments starting May 24, 2004 until currently so some you may have answered already and some they have answered through our activities.

We are all very excited to chat with you on Friday June 4, 2004

Your students Ask:

Have you seen a walrus?
How far are you from Nome now?
Are you involved a lot
Was the Polar bear sight awesome?
Did you see a lot of animals in Nome?
Was Nome a colorful place to visit?
How many wild animals did you see?
Was water everywhere in Nome?
How many different sea mammals have you seen?
How many square miles is in the Arctic Circle?
Have you seen any Eskimos?
Have you seen any caribou?
Are you always cold?
What do walrus eat?
Do you ever get bored?
How long can a person last without insulation without dying of hypothermia?
How is the boat keeping you warm with some kind of insulation? If so what kind?
Is it scary?
Have you seen any cool animals?
Is the ride hard on the waves?
Have you seen any icebergs and how big were they?
Is the sun up all the time?
Have you seen any unusual sea life in the arctic waters?
Does the ice or water seem colder?
What is the usual temperature of the arctic?
How many layers do you need to wear to stay warm outside?
What kind of debris and bacteria have you found at the bottom of the ocean?
What is the hardest part of working in the Arctic?
Are you having fun?
Is it cold?
Do you like it
Have walruses attacked you?
Have you touched the water yet? If so is it cold?
Are there islands up there like in the Falcon Bow?
How much sleep have you gotten so far?
What do you eat?
Do you get seasick?
Are you freezing cold constantly?
Is the arctic anything like you thought it would be?
How well do the arctic animals last ( I believe this means “live”)?
Do you every get dangerously cold?
What si the best type of clothing to wear in the arctic cuz it is so cold?
Do you only eat fish, or can you eat anything that you could get in Yelm?
Do you every go outside and look at the water?
What is the main role of the Healy?
If you went outside and spit would it freeze before it hit the ground?
What inspired you to go? I mean how can you handle it?
