Investigation 2.3: Researching Local Knowledge

Investigation:
Interview with members of local community who have knowledge of ice and subsistence activities, Richard Glenn and Harry Brower, as well as wild life biologist, Craig George, about impact on wildlife and subsistence hunting.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, students will:

  • Understand the interdependence between living things and their environment.
  • Understand that a small change in a portion of the environment may effect the entire environment.
  • Acquire cultural knowledge through active participation and meaningful interaction with elders.
