Investigation 2.2: Ice Core Research

Investigation:
Interview with ice core researcher, Dr. Hajo Eicken, at one of his research sites out on the pack ice.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, students will:

  • Understand that physical and chemical interactions result it observable changes in the properties of sea ice.
  • Understand how ice core research is designed and conducted.
  • Understand the arctic environment consists of individuals, populations and communities.
