This is amazing stuff. I have seen so many students in rural schools who have never thought beyond their community. This would open their eyes to a great, wide world.

Does TREC do these trips during the academic school year? I would love to have my students interacting with researches while the event is happening.

Hi Rick,
I happen to agree with your statements and that's part of why I wanted to go on a trip like this. The TREC trips happen mostly in the summer, but as you can see from my dates, my trip occurred during the month of May while many kids were still in school. Kevin's trip happened at the end of May, so his too occurred while school was still in session. There are a few others that overlap the beginning of the school year in August and September.
Thanks for the post. Great question.
