That's an awesome experiment!.. our class up here in Barrow did that last year also,and it was cool seeing how much smaller the cups were due to them being so far underwater. Hope your class enjoyed it as much as ours did..

On the Laurier, we were only able to send them down to about 1000 meters. when I was on a bigger ship in deeper water, we sent them down to more than 3000 meters. They got even smaller!! Each time I've gone out on the Laurier, we have ended up in Barrow. Last year I had a chance to spend almost two days there before flying out. What a fascinating area. We loved walking the beach, driving out of town to look around, and of course, eating great Mexican food! |
