How do you find the snow geese?

There are several ways that we find the goose colony. On the North Slope of Alaska there are allot of Inupiat Eskimos that have knowledge of the landscape going back many generations. So one way is to listen to the elders and to ask them questions.
Another way we try to find geese is to fly aerial surveys at the time of year when the birds should be nesting, typically in the middle of June just after the snow has melted up here. Thanks for your question! Brian QUOTE(Joe Hirt @ Sep 13 2005, 09:35 PM) |
