July 18, 2006 First Day of Travel, Are we there yet? Options

What a day! Today I flew to Fairbanks, Alaska. My day started out by leaving Tyler Pounds Field. My daughters drove me to the airport.

I flew from Tyler to Houston, Houston to Seattle, and then Seattle to Fairbanks where I arrived at 12:30 AM.

This is a much small airplane then I like to fly in!

I had a three hour lay-over in the Seattle Airport that turned into a six hour lay-over. Finally, over the intercom came a man saying “as soon as the plane is fixed, then we will leave.” That made me what to go (run and hide).

I arrived in Fairbanks and checked into the hotel. I didn’t realize how late it was. I snapped this picture and went to bed.

The sun is still up at 2 am. This time of year northern Alaska has 24 hours of daylight.

So ended day one.
