Is it a lonely place to be or just does it seem that way.

Actually, we're working so hard when we are out that we don't have time to think about the loneliness. And, even during those times when we're "off duty," I find the ocean to be so beautiful, interesting, and everchanging, that I don't get lonely. Having said, that, I should mention that I'm only out for about two weeks at a time. It might be different if I was out longer.
