Links to Arctic and Antarctic Lesson Plans and Activities!

The following sites offer some excellent lesson plans for anyone interested in teaching students about the Arctic and/or Antarctic. We will be posting more lesson plans in the future so stay tuned!

1. Links to a variety of lessons from different subject areas developed by past TEA (Teachers Experiencing Antarctica and the Arctic) teachers for primary, middle and high school students.

2. Link to an index of lesson plans from Arctic Alive, a distance-learning environment that virtually transports students to unique arctic locations. You can find background information on the program and download lesson plans, activity ideas and student worksheets.

3. List of resources for teachers including physical science lesson plans from the Department of Energy’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Program, many of which use real data.
