[color=#CC33CC]Hey there Patty!

My name is Danielle . I go to Union Vale Middle School . I enjoy reading your journals every day at home and in science. This morning at like 9:00 it was 5:00 am in Alaska! How cold does it get down there? I saw the picture of some men in like heavy orange suits. I wish I had a bed like yours, with a curtain! I feel bad for you, trying to climb up that "ladder" with all your luggage! Well, I wish you the best! . GOOD LUCK!

Hi Danielle,
Thanks for reading my journals every day! It is very cold up here in the Bering Sea. I have to wear many layers of clothes to keep warm. It is only in the 40s (F), but it feels much colder since we are in the middle of the sea and the winds are strong. The heavy orange suits you saw are called Mustang suits. Anytime we are out on the deck, we have to wear those suits. They are warm, and bright -- so if we should happen to fall in, we could be spotted quickly for rescue.
