Lots of things happen if the carbon and water cycles stop. For example, rain and snow are part of the water cycle. If the cycle stops, there would be no more rain or snow. Then the rivers and lakes would dry up.

Carbon is used by plants, in the form of carbon dioxide, to create plant materials and grow plants and trees. If the carbon cycle were to stop, plants would not be able to grow.
