TREC Virtual Base Camp _ Ask the Teacher (Bob) or the Scientist Team _ Polar Bears

When I was reading about the Bear disturbance on the camp site it made me wonder, do bears usually travel alone or together? Is Svalbarg notorious for polar bear sitings or was this a unique occurance. Did you notice effects of global warming on organism such as polar bears while in Svalbarg?

Hi Brian,
The bears usually travel alone. Svalbard does have its fair share of Polar Bear sitings. We had no indication that global warming had any effect on the bears. thanks for your question.
