Hey Sam!
Well, my students should be tongue.gif checking one of your posts to prepare for an essay question on their ecology test on Thursday. In the meantime, I have a couple of questions. You mentioned photosynthetic radiation - I've never heard that term before and am wondering about that. Also, you said that one of the scientists is analyzing the water from those canisters for selenium. Now, I know a few things about selenium from my days in the research lab, but I'm wondering what the source of selenium would be there and what high levels of it would suggest to the researchers.

Preparation for EOC's is underway... and I still miss my PCJ buddy! Enjoy the chai!

Hi Ms. Purser,
You through a tough one at me with the selenium question. I've got your photosynthetic radiation, but it will have to wait until I can get the selenium one answered. The researchers I need are Marj Brooks, who works the night shift, and her husband, Jim Lovvorn, who is doing fixed wing aerial surveys for the spectacled eiders and will maybe be back tomorrow. They are the ones testing for selenium though. So I will try to catch Marj tomorrow before she goes off shift at noon.
Take care and keep checking back. I should have it answered in the next couple of days.
