How did I get on the USCGC Healy cruise?

When I came across the Teachers & Researcher, Exploring & Collaborating website ( http://archive.arcus.org/trec/) reading the program description of this outstanding educational experience on the Internet I didn’t hesitate and wrote an application. Yes, one day I got the eagerly awaited e-mail, informing me that I got selected for the geophysics research cruise on the US coastguard icebreaker Healy, working together with the well known scientist Dr. Bernard Coakley (SCICEX- geophysics program on US Navy submarines).

I'm thrilled and honored to be a participant in this TREC experience. I hope wholeheartedly that some of you, my students and readers, will begin a love affair with the fascinating world of the Arctic and science like I do. Let the adventure begin.
