You know what? I have no idea. I'm sure that the data must be out there somewhere but I only know about the time I was there. While I was there the bugs were incredibly persistent. I will never forget falling asleep to the sound of buzzing mosquitoes--there is nothing quite like it.

In general when it rains (which is not often at Toolik) and when the temperatures are warm is when there are more bugs.
