Hi Menko,

My experience during part of this summer was not bad concerning mosquitos. There were one or two warm days when the mosquitos starting coming out. I used bug dope when they really started bothering me, but they never got bad enough to break out my bug jacket.

I've talked to a few other people in town that had spent time out on the tundra this summer. The general consensus seems to be that the mosquitos were not bad. The summer was actually fairly cool. I'm not sure how it compared to the average summer temperatures but people are talking about how cool it has been overall.

I have heard that the mosquitos have been worse in previous years, and it sounds like they may have been much worse farther inland than the North Slope.

Anybody else have any mosquito experience up here this summer? Let us know what you found.

Thanks,
Leslie
