TREC Virtual Base Camp _ Teacher's Journal _ Beach-combing After the Storm

Late evening (10-11:30 PM)

While walking along the shore following the storm I spied this iceberg. Notice in the picture how small the ice berg seems.

As the iceberg drifts closer to shore, it appears to be somewhat larger.

Not until the iceberg washes ashore does its full size become apparent

I was amazed at the ice “sculptures” lying along the beach. The wind, rain, water, shorelines, rocks, and waves have combined to create many amazing pieces of art. This near-perfect triangular-shaped ice reminded me of a diamond.
