TREC Virtual Base Camp _ Ask the Teacher (Bob) or the Scientist Team _ Ablation Stakes

In your post titled "Another full day in Lake Linne Valley", you talk about measuring ablation stakes and finding that the glaciers had melted between 11 and 15 cm over the course of three days. This sounds like a very large amount of ice to have melted. How much is a "normal" amount of meltage for the season?

Great Question Adam,
We found that the glacier was melting in late july 3-4 cm a day. Last year when it rained a lot it melted more like 7 or 8 cm a day. We are still trying to determine what normal is. Thanks for the question
