Summary (from July 18 to July 24) : They all went on the Gipanis and sailed for a long time. Surprisingly, Dinner is at 8:30 pm. Mrs. Nikula get's to bunk with only one person. Everyone played cribbage and had a friendly bet over who would get sea-sick first though that's taking a while. Mrs. Nikula almost missed lunch since she forgot it was earlier than normal and took a shower. There was a friendly bet pool over if they would be able to see Ketoy when they got to it or not since there was extremely thick fog. New knowledge: Very foggy near Kurils. There is a very active volcano in the southern part of the Kurils. Russia has it's own kind of hot dog. Questions: Have you found any interesting fish? If so, which is the most interesting, in your opinion? |

By the end of the trip, I had seen MANY interesting fish. Lots of salmon, atka mackerel, and cod like fish. We also saw a few halibut even! The crew spent many days fishing off the Gipanis while we were onshore and we even ate some of them for dinner! VERY fresh fish, VERY yummy! Mrs. N-O |
