Well, what we were studying was what would happen if we changed the environment on the tundra. For example one thing that was changed was the amount of fertilizer. In one area we studied we added fertilizer. In another area we removed certain plants or moss. The scientists have been doing this for years and hope to find out what happens when conditions in the arctic (tundra) change.
