Hi again,
I was just wondering if you knew why penguins walk in a straight line when they travel somewhere?
Thanks,
Kalyn
Hi Kalyn:
In any harsh environment, organisms try to conserve as much energy as possible. From our Senior Research Assistant, Chris, "They will take the shortest distance between two points to get to where they want to go (for food, for breeding, etc.). Also , they have a compass in their brain which points them in the right direction."
Hope that helps!
Ms. R
