Hello Ruth. I'm the guy who has done the science fair project. The water has been warming up a bit and the ice is becoming more and more unstable. But we can manage on hunting for the walruses and seals when we cut'em up on the fairly stable ice. A couple of days ago, we caught one bearded seal and five female walruses: four of which had no calves and one with the calf still inside the sack. We went about 15 miles southwest and got to 2 groups of walruses. There was about 30-40 on two ice floes. We did not attempt to get the ones in groups because they can sometimes attack the boat causing it to sink. There hasn't been one attack yet. Gotta go. Write to ya l8er.
